Thank you note from Mary
Dear Friends and Supporters,
When I announced that I would run for the Libertarian Party (LP)
Presidential nomination, I was not sure what kind of reception I would
receive. After all, I started late in a large field of candidates who have
been on the campaign trail for over a year. Consequently, I have been
surprised, humbled, and honored by the incredible outpouring of your
support.
I've been to five state conventions in the last 3 weekends; my husband, Ray Carr, has been to two on my behalf. At each stop, delegates thank me
profusely for giving them another choice. Long-time libertarians who have
"dropped out" claim that they've come back to the LP because I'm running.
Supporters who weren't going to the National Convention will now attend just
so that they can vote for me. Young, dedicated Ron Paul activists from
various meet-up groups are pledging not only their help, but are arranging
to be in Denver. Donations are coming in from people who truly cannot afford
to give. Who would not be moved by such a passionate response?
Even though words are woefully inadequate, I want to extend my personal
thanks to each and every one of you who has volunteered to help the
campaign, endorsed my candidacy, or donated funds. Never think that your
contribution of time or money is too small. Every brick is needed to create
a strong edifice. I may stand as your spokesperson, but you are the power
that enables me to do so. Without you, I can do nothing. With you, nothing
is impossible.
If you honor me with the nomination in Denver, I will do all in my power to
be the best LP presidential candidate ever. With your continued support, I
know that I can be exactly that.
Yours in liberty,
Mary J. Ruwart, Ph.D.
